NEW
VERSION OF WEB BASED DATA CAPTURE OPTION ANNOUNCED
A new version of the Web based option of Print & Scan (V6.00)
has been announced and will start shipping at the end of March 2001.
Based
on the standard Print & Scan engine it now combines the use
of both Web and Email deliveries whereby the system administrator
can post projects onto the Web in the usual manner. Once respondees
have completed the form, these are submitted back via Email using
standardised scripting supplied by most Internet Service Providers.
A significant advantage of this method is that it requires less
management and is easier to implement on web-based servers. From
the respondees point of view, they will still see and complete the
same form layout as that produced by the paper based format.
This
method of data capture can be used for standard surveys as well
as assessments and monitoring where secure data, such as pupil or
patient records, are being recorded and transferred. High standards
of data encryption are used and comprehensive audit trails can be
readily established so that non-returns can be traced. Duplicate
record checking is also undertaken by the system when data is received
back from respondees to ensure that the same person cannot return
the form(s) more than once.
Local
Government departments undertaking Equality Monitoring can also use
the system whereby the forms (both application and equal opportunity)
are returned to the department advertising the job who then complete
the relevant sections regarding short listing or interviewing before
posting them back to the personnel department for analysis.
