PRINT & SCAN 6.20 SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCHED AT BETT 2002
|
The new version of Print & Scan (V6.20) was successfully launched at the BETT 2002 exhibition, Olympia, London at the beginning of January. It is intended to start shipping the new system in late February/early March. Current licensed users of the system, who have taken out software support agreements, will receive the new version upgrade free of charge, as well as the normal ongoing support. A further feature being offered to customers who renew their support/ maintenance contracts is a free training session at our offices.
A number of new features, including several user suggestions, have been included in the new version including: -
- Longitudinal analytical facilities that allows users to group forms together into families and then undertake surveys, assessments etc. over a specified time period to gauge shifts in attitudes, knowledge, skills etc. This feature can be used in surveys or to assess improvements in personal performance.
- Line insertion and Undo buttons in form design as well as up to 16 million colours now allowed when designing forms. The colour option is also being supplied as standard in both the Gold and Platinum editions.
- Different sized answer box lozenges so that users may now have up to thirty response boxes across the screen. If printing from a laser printer in black and white these response lozenges will be shown as brackets however, if printing in colour (red only allowed) then the response areas will be shown as boxes.
- Full routing facilities on both paper based and electronic options (web/email) which allows users to set go to options on any response and any question.
- Shading option which allows users to have background shading in designated border boxes.
- New icons to cover the copy and paste functions when copying text only from one box to another (the current copy and paste icons will still only apply to test, answer boxes etc.)
- Support for multiple question types including Extended Matching, True/False, Yes/No, MCQ's (multiple choice questions), Multiple Correct Answers (one question allowing respondees to mark more than one box) with hot spots and slider scales additionally available in the Web option.
- Full examinations facility (available as an option) with improved functionality for test and examinations including student feedback, batching options, question reliability and discrimination and additional graphical display options.
- Improved student list option to allow attendance registers to be reprinted at will and with previous attendance information overprinted where appropriate. An Access macro covering attendance reporting is also available as an option if required.
- The Web option now has an on-line student list option which allows users to undertake on line attendance/registers as well as performance monitoring and expected gradings. These forms are displayed in the same format as the paper ones and, in line with our philosophy of allowing users maximum flexibility, can be mixed with the paper-based options.
- New reporting options for posting reports and graphical displays to the Web as well as additional security features for the Web option. This allows supervisors to stipulate the number of attempts that users can make when completing a form/s on-line as well as allowing the respondees to be stored either on-line for checking or off-line as required.
